- 01One of the toughest decisions I've had to make was turning down a great job offer so I could stay close to my family.
- 02It wasn't an easy choice at all, because the position would've given my career a real boost.
- 03The job was based in another city, and it came with a much higher salary and some genuinely exciting responsibilities.
- 04But my parents were getting older, and I didn't want to be too far away in case they ever needed help.
- 05I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my mom the night before I had to give my final answer, just going back and forth in my head.
- 06In the end, she told me she'd support whatever I chose, which actually made the decision feel even heavier.
- 07I think I turned it down mainly because family has always mattered more to me than career progress, at least at this stage of my life.
- 08Looking back, I don't regret it, because I know new opportunities will come up again, but I can never get this time with my family back.
